08/12/2003 Archived Entry: "4th Potter book"

It is with a sense of deep national pride that I announce The Toque -- Canada's source for humour and satire. Actually...it ain't The Onion.

If you love the Harry Potter books and films as much I do, then you'll be delighted to hear that a 4th film is in the works. For more info...

For those interested...here is the list of candidates in California's October 7th Recall Davis election, with four self-described libertarians included: Ken Hamidi - Computer Engineer & Free Speech Activist; Jack Hickey - Research Scientist, Sequoia Health Care District Commissioner & Navy Veteran; Jonathan Marvin; and, Ned Roscoe - Cigarette Store Chain President & Cigarette Tax Repeal Activist. I have been told that men's rights activist Warren Farrell has thrown his hat into the gubernatorial ring but his name is not listed in the preliminary roster of candidates; the certified list is due out tomorrow. And I do mean "ring" as in circus. Consider just one small aspect of the unfolding entertainment: a ballot listing nearly 200 candidates for governor. Who is listed first? NBC reports, "State election officials randomly drew letters to determine the order of the recall ballot that could be choked with nearly 200 candidates for the special Oct. 7 election. The first letter chosen was R, followed by W, Q and O."

Brief blog today...
Best to all,
mac
